Juror's Statement
While almost all of
the slides entered in this competition met a high standard of professionalism,
several pieces stood out as remarkably imaginative and should be
considered masterpieces. Those few were the easier selections. As
for the other 75+ works selected, the challenge was far more difficult.
The resulting exhibition is broad in its scope and entertaining
in its variety. I was personally amazed by the showcase of talent
presented. And professionally impressed to see how far my peers
are pushing their art.
It was a delight to
meet and work with the staff and members of the Irving Art Association,
and an honor to be entrusted with such a challenging task. I think
many will agree that this exhibition truly represents some of the
best of American art today.
